In the summer of 2025, we—Michael and Laura Thompson, traveling from San Francisco with our two children—found that balance in the Dolomites. From the moment we arrived, the mountains felt welcoming rather than intimidating. Mornings began with crisp alpine air and panoramic views that felt almost unreal. Our private guided hikes were tailored to our family’s pace, allowing the children to explore nature freely while we absorbed the profound calm that only the mountains can offer.

One of our most memorable days was spent at a traditional mountain hut, where we enjoyed a farm-to-table lunch overlooking dramatic peaks. The simplicity of the food, combined with the grandeur of the landscape, created a moment of pure connection—both with nature and with each other.
